The Brazilian soccer star, now 30, signed for the Rio de Janeiro club, in reportedly the most expensive deal ever made in Brazilian soccer. Although the figures have not been made public by the most popular club in Brazil, Brazilian media say that Flamengo, through its sponsors, paid AC Milan some 3 million dollars for the player. The striker has signed with the Brazilian club until June 2014, just before Brazil hosts the World Cup. Ronaldinho will reportedly earn more than 600,000 dollars a month, with a penalty of 238 million dollars to deter him from breaking the bond unilaterally.
