Montzerrat Ramirez, 21, shows a family photo of herself with her mother, Lorena Ramirez, in Guadalajara, Mexico, Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007. Montzerrat's mother asked Agustin Huerta, a medical doctor authorities say practiced plastic surgery without a license, for help with a back pain. He recommended breast reduction, a tummy tuck and liposuction, even though she had diabetes and hypertension. Following the surgery, Lorena Ramirez's incisions repeatedly opened and became infected, and she spent 37 days in the hospital, racking up thousands of dollars in medical bills, her daughter said. She later died of a heart attack.
Gabriela Sanchez, 41, a patient of Agustin Huerta, a medical doctor authorities say practiced plastic surgery without a license, shows the scars on her breast and abdomen in Guadalajara, Mexico, Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007. Sanchez is one of 43 patients, since 2003, to file complaints against Huerta, who allegedly botched dozens of facelifts, liposuctions, breast implants and other procedures
