A Sri Lankan student's school bag hangs on a railing during investigations at the site of a bomb blast in Colombo, 29 November 2007. A parcel bomb, weighing around seven kilos (more than 15 pounds), exploded at Nugegoda just south of Colombo killing at least 17 and injuring 43 during the evening rush hour 28 November. Earlier in the day, a disabled Tamil Tiger suicide bomber with explosives hidden in her bra, blew herself up outside the office of Social Services Minister Douglas Devananda, killing his secretary. Tens and thousands have died since the LTTE launched a separatist campaign for minority Tamils from 1972.
