Amarnath shrine bound Sadhu, or a holy man, teaches yoga
An Amarnath shrine bound Sadhu, or a holy man, teaches yoga to other Sadhus as he waits for his turn to be registered for the pilgrimage in Jammu June 16, 2008. A three-tier security arrangement with the deployment of more than 6,000 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel has been put in place for the pilgrimage, the first batch of pilgrims for which will be leaving June 17 onwards, local media reported. Every year, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims trek through treacherous mountains in revolt-torn Kashmir, along icy streams, glacier-fed lakes and frozen passes, to reach the Amarnath cave, located at an altitude of 3,800 metres (12,467 feet).
