A house abandoned due to unstable land conditions along the Yangtze River upstream from the three Gorges Dam in Hubei, central China, Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007. China's Cabinet defended efforts to protect the environment around the massive Three Gorges dam on Tuesday, and denied reports of unusual seismic activity in the area.
