Syrians inspect damages in the old city of Aleppo
after the area was shelled by Syrian regime forces on September 30,
2012. Forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad shelled rebel-held areas
across Syria as fierce clashes were reported in second city Aleppo
where a fire tore through a medieval souk.

earthquake struck in San Marcos, Guatemala, Wednesday Nov. 7, 2012. The
mountain village, some 80 miles (130 kilometers) from the epicenter,
suffered much of the damage with some 30 homes collapsing in its center.
There are three confirmed dead and many missing after the strongest
earthquake to hit Guatemala since a deadly 1976 quake that killed 23,000

largest amount of skulls at the most sacred temple of the Aztec empire.
Five of the 50 skulls that were found, including this scull, were buried
under a sacrificial stone and have holes on both sides of the head,
evidence they were hung on a skull rack.
